Round Top, Texas - Part II
Round Tooopppp! Guys, seriously Round Top, Texas is just the best little Texas town. Pair it with Texas Antiques Week and it is the best time with your girlfriends ever.
If you didn't catch my first post on Round Top, go check it out here for a good ole introduction on this tiny Texas town.
I'm already counting down until the Fall when I can go again, hopefully when I'm in between cities during our tour. Or maybe the tour will just have to stop in Round Top! How fun would that be?!
Alright y'all, here's my recipe for the perfect day at Round Top:
Texas spring weather (which is the best - cloudy but no rain, with a slight wind and the sun peeking in and out - kissing the wild bluebonnets along the road)
Good friends and cute dogs and Texans everywhere!!! Okay, and a few really nice people from all over America.
Not being in a rush. Sloowwwnesss is key!
Stopping to look at whatever tickles your fancy.
Striking a few good deals.
A midday Shiner Bock with a burger.
A homemade Ding Dong Cake the size of Texas.
Did I mention good friends?
Oh mannnnn, I found my dream dog in the form of a puppy named Cody and I wanted to take her home with me. Blue Heelers are my favorite!!!
Seriously, already BFF's.
Found where they were stashing the teacups - a few spoke to me, so of course, I had to take them home. They are like stray dogs to me, haha! They tug on my heart strings and I need to find a home for them!
If y'all ever see a good vintage teacup, grab it for me!
Also found the records and they had some good stuff!
Dolly, Elvis, Neil, The Carpenters... the gangs all here!!! And look at that packaging on The Carpenters Album… HEART EYES!
Out of tune pianos - but hey, it's a musical instrument - I'll play around, or pose (which is more like it), with it!
Purse for THREE dollars?! Yes, pleeeasssee!
Buy aaanything with the word "T-E-X-A-S" on it!
Drink a Shiner.
Eat a realllllly good burger from Reba’s (goooo there people! charcoal grilled, melty cheese, a bar with all the lettuce, tomato, and pickles you could want... A-MAZING!). Definitely a must-eat at place in Round, Top AND they always have live music!
Needless to say, it was awesome.
"Dead People's Stuff" - hahah can you believe that name?! Hi-lar-i-ous.
More teacups! Seriously y'all, I love them.
Couldn't nooooot take a picture in that Junk Gypsy pink Cadillac of Miranda's… brilliant! And why didn’t anyone tell me I had hair out of place breezing across my forehead? What are friends for anyway?!
Speaking of friends, Round Top is one of those places and experiences that is just meant to be shared and experienced with your friends. It is the best girls weekend and eevverrry group of girlfriends should make it a point to go together!
Round Top, you are so stinking fun!!! Can’t wait to do it all again next year!
